Well, to be perfectly honest this site is not all about me,
it is in fact about adoptive parents and children. We (Cie McMullin and Lynn Burwash) have published a book to help parents of adopted children. We are both middle-aged moms with 2 adopted kids each. Lynn is also adopted herself. The idea for the book came from hundreds of moms asking us how we told our kids they were adopted. This simple, direct children's book is an invaluable tool for adoptive parents who wish to provide their children with an avenue for understanding the meaning of being adopted. When incorporated into a regular reading schedule, it provides consistent opportunities for parents and children to have open, frank and meaningful conversations. The presentation style provides continuous opportunity for child/parent interaction and encourages children to participate in the story by "filling-in-the-blanks" using their crayons and washable markers. Of course it wipes off so the child can do it again and again. "All About Me" is a well-designed book, recommended for children from one to six years. Important features include:
