VC24: Strange Bead choker Necklace from India

Small tan beads intertwine with larger chartruese glass beads. I say "strange" because I can't tell what the small beads are made of. From normal viewing distance they look like carved wood or cork; closer they might be clay or seed bits. They are strung on monofiliment (fishing line). The paper tag (still attached) reads "MADE IN INDIA". It has the original twine loop-over-knob fastener. The inner circumference about 12" so it's a tight fit on most necks, but it can wrap around the wrist as a unique bracelet. I know this piece is at least 20 years old, maybe more.
